Planning to Embark on a Journey on Lake Päijänne? The Lake Päijänne Water Route is almost 400 kilometres long extending from Lahti via Jyväskylä all the way to Pielavesi. There are a total of 1,850 kilometres of marked routes in the region.  By clicking the map on the right, you can study the water route. You can see information about harbours of lakes Päijänne, Keitele and Kansallisvesi as well as all the tourist services you need. You can use our map to plan your journey, but please do not use it as an aid in navigating - the map is not detailed enough for that! Lake Päijänne, Giant of a Lake
The extensive basin of lake Päijänne starts at lake Vesijärvi in Lahti and reaches all the way to Jyväskylä in the north. Lake Päijänne offers tourists Finnish lakeside scenery at its best.
