Water Route Kansallisvesi to the Rautalammi Route The Kansallisvesi ('National Water') Water Route opens the road from lake Konnevesi to the scenery of the province of Savonia, all the way to lake Pielavesi. This versatile water route will take a boater via four canals into labyrinthine waters with plenty to see and experience. The lakes along this route are clean and almost in their natural state. Good fishing waters, beautiful archipelagos and large open waters divided by narrow passages offer a versatile setting for water tourism and boating. The wilderness-like route includes plenty of harbours and other places to come ashore. Many tourism businesses are located by the water, and therefore it is easy for a water tourist to get food or lodging or experience the wonderful heat of a chimneyless sauna, for example. The Kansallisvesi Water Route also includes a connection to lake Saimaa. Larger boats can also be transferred from one water system to the other by using the convenient 'rubber canal transportation' (transportation by car) available here. After that, the road is open all the way to the Saimaa Canal and the Bay of Finland!
